Face of Balaam is Xaon’s debut EP. The band came to me in search of a colorful cover that displayed Balaam in a way that he fit within their lyrical universe. I specifically wanted him to appear petrified of old age. He had lost his crown and his sight, but not his knowledge of the world he has endlessly traveled. Over the years, he has slowly become one with the organic matter and beings of his realm; with their symbiotic relationship represented by an eyeless crow relaying important messages to him.
